Summary Description

The Store Manager is responsible for the management, oversight, and daily operations of the Origins | Rose Mary Jane store. The Store Manager’s primary goal is to ensure that outstanding customer experiences are delivered while simultaneously ensuring the key performance indicators for the store are met or exceeded.  All work is performed in a manner that amplifies the mission and Values of Origins | Rose Mary Jane and creates a uniquely exceptional customer experience.

The Store Manager actively leads store operations to ensure smooth and efficient Team performance and outstanding customer experiences. Outstanding customer experiences are achieved through these three management pillars: Operations Management, Team Member Development, and Inventory Management. 

 

The Store Manager effectively manages the operations of their store when they:

 

  • Ensure the satisfaction and safety of all visitors and customers and that outstanding customer experience is being provided.
  • Achieve KPI goals for retention, P&L management, net revenue, and customer retention.
  • Oversee the Manager-On-Duty to ensure register balances, daily closeouts, and daily deposit reconciliations are thorough and exact.
  • Achieve proper staffing by ensuring store schedules are on-time, according to the master schedule, and implemented effectively.
  • Ensure company policies and best practices are observed in all store operations and by all Team Members.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

 

The Store Manager demonstrates leadership and develops effective teams when they:

 

  • Ensure Team Member issues are resolved in a timely and respectful manner. 
  • Support team member development and success when they train, monitor, evaluate, coach and correct performance as needed.
  • Create an employment environment that positions Origins | Rose Mary Jane as an employer of choice by hiring, training, developing, coaching, supporting, and valuing talented Team Members.
  • Utilize company technology to ensure excellence in employee training and development.
  • Evaluate and review Team Member performance informally as well as formally once every quarter.

 

The Store Manager effectively manages store inventory when they:

 

  • Ensure all products are displayed correctly, labeled accurately, filled-in, and well merchandised.
  • Ensure the timely verification and receipt of all product deliveries.
  • Ensure the accuracy of physical inventory and compliance with physical inventory audit requirements.
  • Ensure Team Members are providing the Purchasing Manager with the information necessary to manage purchases and products to meet the needs of the customer.
  • Partner with marketing and the Purchasing Manager to escalate product issues and determine promotions, pricing, and purchases.

Reports To:

 

  • The Store Manager reports directly to the district manager.

 

Performance Requirements: (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

 

  • Able to read and understand financial reporting and proformas
  • Possess expert knowledge about Cannabis products, methods of delivery and applications
  • Demonstrate an understanding of cannabis culture, customer behavior and buying trends
  • Be proficient with software and technology required of the role including the Inventory Management/Point of Sale systems, Email systems, Microsoft Office Suite, KPI dashboard, etc.
  • Possess excellent written/verbal communication skills, problem solving skills, leadership skills, and team development skills.

 

Work Environment

 

  • Work is generally performed in a busy dispensary and requires frequent contact and interaction with customers, vendors, and visitors.
  • Hours and shifts worked per week are varied and include mornings, nights, afternoons, and weekends.  Shifts vary depending on hours of operation and business needs.

 

Physical Demands

 

  • Ability to operate a computer, keyboard, iPad, receipt printer, and other point of sale equipment.
  • Frequent reaching and grabbing.
  • Frequent standing and moving for prolonged periods of time.
  • Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, using ladders, and moving up to 50 lbs.

 

Required Education and Experience

 

  • 3 or more years of management experience in a retail business
  • 1 or more years managing a team of 20 or more employees
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be 21+

 

Preferred Education and Experience

 

  • Management experience in the cannabis industry
  • Previous experience as a store or general manager
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration
